SARS RT-PCR Kit

The SARS RT-PCR Kit constitutes a ready-to-use system for the detection of SARS-CoV RNA using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the ABI PRISM® 7000, 7700 and 7900HT Sequence Detection System (Applied Biosystems). The SARS-CoV Master contains reagents and enzymes for the reverse transcription and specific amplification of a 92 bp region of the SARSCoV genome. The amplicon is detected by measuring the FAM fluorescence in the ABI PRISM® SDS. In addition, the SARS RT-PCR Kit contains a second heterologous amplification system to identify possible PCR inhibition. This is detected as an Internal Control (IC) by measuring the VIC fluorescence. External positive controls (SARS-CoV QS 1 - 4) are supplied which allow the determination of the pathogen load.
