The Abbott Cervi-Collect Specimen Collection Kit is intended for the collection and transportation of cervical specimens for the detection of Human papillomavirus (HPV). The Abbott Cervi-Collect Specimen Collection Kit contains a Transport Tube and Cervical Brush. The Transport Tube contains 2.5 mL of Specimen Transport Buffer andis used to stabilize DNA until sample preparation.

 

The benefits in utilizing the Abbott Cervi-Collect Specimen Collection Kit includes:

  • Consolidation of cervical brush and transport tube in one sealed pouch allowing for simplified collection of cervical specimens for HPV testing
  • Direct use on the Abbott m2000sp and m24sp, automated sample preparation systems, reducing the number of manual steps and minimizing sampling errors by using the primary tube.

Cervi-Collect Specimen Collection Kit Contents:

  • 50 individually-wrapped Abbott Cervi-Collect Specimen Collection Kits per box with 10 boxes per kit.
  • Each single use Abbott Cervi-Collect Specimen Collection Kit contains the following:
    • Cervical Brush
    • Transport Tube: 2.5 mL of Specimen Transport Buffer

Transport:

  • For domestic or international shipments, specimens should be packaged and labeled in compliance with applicable state, federal, and international regulations covering the transport of clinical, diagnostic, or biological specimens.
  • It is recommended that each Transport Tube be placed in an individual, sealable bag prior to transport.

Storage:

  • Store unopened Abbott Cervi-Collect Specimen Collection Kit at 15°C to 30°C until the expiration date.
  • After collection, transport and store Transport Tube at 2°C to 30°C for up to 14 days. If longer storage is needed, store at -10°C or below for up to 90 days.
